SEMBA is a dance and music work exploring love as an essential yet sometimes painful force in human life. Drawing inspiration from a traditional wedding dance of the Cena and N’dao peoples of Mozambique’s Sofala province, “SEMBA” celebrates the moment two families unite and begin a shared journey. The performance delves into love’s power to harmonize and connect across cultural divides, embodying the belief that love is the backbone of human existence. Through expressive movement and evocative music, SEMBA honors both the joys and complexities that love brings to our shared humanity.
